General and Interventional Cardiologist

Dr Arshad Khan is a General and Interventional Cardiologist with special interest in the management of heart failure, hypertension, primary and secondary prevention of coronary artery disease, arrhythmias and perioperative cardiovascular assessment. He holds consultant VMO position at Lingard Private, Lake Macquarie Private Hospital and Maitland Private in the Hunter region.

Dr Khan trained at John Hunter Hospital Newcastle Australia and Johns Hopkins University Hospital Baltimore USA (3rd best hospital in USA – USNews 2018).

Dr Khan performs transthoracic and stress echocardiography, exercise stress test, coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention and stenting at these centres.

Dr Khan is a keen researcher and is a strong believer of role of research in the advancement of cardiovascular medicine. His research interests include eft ventricular remodelling, management of coronary artery disease and ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and cancer treatment related cardiomyopathy (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Arshad_Khan49).

He has local and international research collaborations at John Hunter Hospital, Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital, University of Newcastle, Hunter medical research institute, Tsinghua University Beijing, China and Johns Hopkins University Hospital Baltimore USA.
